Procedure to get a Student Visa
1. Visit a designated HDFC Bank and pay your visa application fees. (Not all HDFC banks have this facility)
2. The current visa application fees are Rs. 4200($100). In addition to this you have to pay Rs.276, which is the VFS service fee. Remember to carry a copy of the first age of your passport when you visit the HDFC branch. HDFC Bank will issue a fee receipt to you.
3. Wait for at least two working days for the fee receipt to get activated.
4. Following this, take your visa date online at www.vfs-usa.co.in
5. Once you receive your visa date, Submit your supporting documents to the VFS office. These include your passport, I-20, Photograph, forms DS-157 and DS-158(if applicable) and $100 SEVIS fee receipt. Make sure that your documents reach the VFS office at least five working days before your scheduled appointment date.
6. Tip: You are not allowed to take your cell phone or any other electronic equipment in the US consulate. Carry all your supporting documents in a plastic bag.
